I am writing in support of the Harvest Roaring Fork project. From a safety perspective, housing and transportation are directly connected. Many of the hardworking men and women in the Roaring Fork Valley are forced to live far from their jobs due to the high cost of living. As a result, they face long, often hour -plus commutes each way. Extended commutes increase fatigue, add stress, and contribute to higher traffic volumes on our highways, especially during peak construction and winter driving seasons. Shorter commutes mean less time on the road, reduced congestion, and ultimately safer roadways for everyone in our community. The cost of living in the valley has pushed too many working families farther and farther away from the communities they serve. This not only impacts quality of life, but also affects overall safety, workforce stability, and community well-being. When employees can afford to live closer to their place of work, they are more rested, more present, and better able to contribute both on the job and at home. Harvest Roaring Fork represents an important step toward strengthening our local workforce by providing attainable housing options, including deed -restricted homes that remain available to full-time local workers. Supporting housing for the working class is not just an economic issue, it is a safety issue, a community issue, and an investment in the long-term health of the valley. I fully support this project and encourage thoughtful approval that prioritizes the needs of our local workforce and the safety of our roads. Sincerely, Ryan Yellow Horse Safety Manager Gould Construction
