LEARN MORE AT DCI-ENGINEERS.COM 4/20/2026 Encompass Design Attn: Jenn Clary Project: Aster Place Building A and Building B Location: Parachute, CO Re: Stair Footings To Whom it may concern: Based on our review, it is structurally acceptable to provide a 12-inch-deep mat slab footing with top and bottom mats of #4 reinforcement at 18 inches on center each way in lieu of the isolated strip footings currently shown at the stair locations. The mat slab footing shall extend a minimum of 6 inches beyond the bearing walls and stair stringer bearing locations, where applicable. This alternative foundation configuration is acceptable from a structural standpoint and may be used in place of the strip footings shown at the stairs on the current drawings. Please let us know if you have any questions or if additional clarification is required. Sincerely, DCI Engineers Matthew Schmidt PE, SE, PEng Vice President/Principal
