On September 3, 2025, we visited the residence at 1420 County Road 107 near Carbondale in Garfield
County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation for a 2-bedroom Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)
pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-9232. The system was designed by Sopris Engineering, LLC and
installed by Tally Ho Construction. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system and a letter
certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS
designer dated Narch 16, 2026.
During our inspection, we observed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the ADU, the existing
concrete 1,250-gallon two-compartment septic tank fitted with and effluent filter in the outlet tee of the
tank, the new effluent line, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank and distribution box were
installed level with access brought to grade. The STA consisted of one three row gravelless chamber bed
consisting of 10 ARC 36 chambers per row (30 total chambers, 450 ft2 total STA). Inspection ports were
present at the distal end of each row and the initial end of the two outside rows.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
