Re: Interior Wall J-Bolt Subsitution
To Whom it may concern:
This letter is to confirm that Simpson Strong-Tie Titen HD anchors may be used in lieu of
the specified cast-in-place J-bolts at the interior shear and bearing wall locations,
including the double walls along the building centerline and the corridor walls.
The Titen HD anchors shall be stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized (HDG) and shall be
provided with the same diameter, effective embedment depth, spacing, and washer size
as indicated in the project shear wall schedule.
Exterior shear walls and exterior bearing walls shall continue to use cast-in-place J-bolts
as shown on the plans. No changes are permitted to exterior wall anchorage.
