Hi Judy,
I have received the sign application and proposed drawings. There are a few concerns to be addressed.
• When we spoke on the phone last week you asked about engineering for the signs. These will
require engineering.
• The County Sign Code limits the size of the wall mounted signs to 180 square feet; the proposal is
for 327.3 sq. ft. these will need to be reduced.
• The Code allows 2 signs on each hangar, one on the runway sign and one on the public access
side. The proposal has 4 wall signs, please remove the signs on 2 sides.
• For back lit signs, we've requested signs to be on a dimmer to manage light pollution if we receive
a complaint that they are too bright.
I've attached the chapter from the Land Use Code that regulates signs. "PA" is Public Airports in the Sign
Ta b le.
