RE: Extreme Hocky Tent Structure
That is correct John, we exempted the sprinkler requirement based on 903.2.1.4 Group A-4 (skating rinks) and 2015 IFC
unless one of the following conditions exists.
1. Fire area exceeds 12,000 sq ft. Plans indicated 11,520 sq ft. (LO.O Occupant Load Sec).
2. Occ load exceeds 300. Plans indicated 230 for Occupancy.
3. The floor area of the building is all on the level of exit discharge.
Thanks,

Hi Karl,
I thought the Fire District is waiving the sprinkler requirements, because of the lack of fire Loading, the
Letter you provided does not state that.
From your letter:
Garfield County Ordinance NO. 2018-02:
• Section 903 Automatic Sprinklers systems where required (903.2 (2)).
o Covered rink + 2-B building with maximum floor area <= 9,000 sq/ft total floor area will be
exempt from needing a sprinkler system.

Two Questions:
Are you waiving the amendment to the Fire Code and allowing this structure to be non -sprinkled?
I was wondering if you received the information on the tent?
Thankyou,
John Plano

John, this is the Fabric testing on the plans. Question: does the NFPA— 701(1989) indicate the age of the material? In
other words, is it used? The new standard for NFPA -701 is 2023 that I have referenced for testing. The rating, based
on this document, appears to meet standards.
Thanks,
