The project site is located on Sahnow Pond at approximately latitude 39.407777, longitude -107.167833, Carbondale, Garfield County, Colorado. Based on the information provided, the project involves the discharge of dredged or fill material into aquatic resources and you are requesting verification of authorization under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act for the project. The specific activity that requires Corps’ authorization is the placement of 132 cubic yard of boulders and backfill materials into Sahnow Pond for the construction of bank stabilization along 135’ linear feet of pond bank by placing interlocking boulders (2.5–3' in diameter) in the pond to construct a retaining wall along the affected reach and backfill the wall with cobble and gravel material to armor the bank.
