BUILDING OFFICIAL April 29, 1982 192 Mr. Bud Milner Chief Building Inspector Garfield County 2014 Blake Avenue Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601 Re: Battlement Mesa Inc. - Amendment to PUD Dear Mr. Milner: Through Mr. Cleve Bowling, our jobsite supervisor at Battlement Mesa, I have been informed that Battlement Mesa, Inc. has filed with the county commission- ers for an amendment to their planned unit development which would basically give them the power to do the following: 1 . The right to approve all applications for permits at Battlement Mesa. 2. Right to approve all certificates of occupancy issued by Garfield County at Battlement Mesa, It is my understanding that you are adamantly opposed to this application. Assuming this to be the case, I can certainly understand your opposition as it would create a special consideration entity under your jurisdiction and in effect allow Battlement Mesa to opperate independently of your responsible supervision. Since we are involved with Battlement Mesa, Inc. in the development of an apartment project, we do not feel that we could actively campaign in support of your position. However, I do believe that if our position could be held in strictess confidence, the county commissioner's should be aware that we would not support the application of Battlement Mesa. If they want to exercise control and responsibility over Battlement Mesa, then they should incorporate their community and form their own city government and thereby establish their own building department.
