Box I Carbondale, CO 81623 Dear Mr. Haffnieter: Per your request, please be advised of the Department of Development's policy in regard to expired individual sewage disposal system permits as it pertains to Permit #931 issued in your name on December 10, 1980. The permit expired one (1) year after the date of issuance, since no construction had taken place on either the "septic system" or a dwelling at that location. Therefore, a new permit would be required prior to construction on the system. In order for the permit to be issued, a new application would be required along with the applicable $50.00 permit fee. The percolation results from the orginal permit would be honored and cross referenced to the new permit to determine system sizing based on the information provided in the new permit application. The fee and application should be submitted simultaneously with the building permit application. As the property (Lots 5 & 6, Block 8, Townsite of Cooperton) existed prior to the adoption of zoning in Garfield County, we foresee no problem with the issuance of a building and individual sewage disposal system permits provided the proposals comply with existing regulations.
