Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Attn: Mr. Terry Howard Dear Terry, This is to confirm that we ran a percolation test for the septic tank leachfield at the Schmueser Residence in New Castle. The average percolation rate was found to be 20 minutes for 1" which would require a minimum leachfield of 933 sq. ft. for the 3 bedroom Schmueser home. We found no bedrock or groundwater at a depth of 10 feet. In order to provide excess capacity in the system, we installed a 1250 gallon septic tank and a 1800 square foot leachfield using 1 1/2" washed gravel. This installation followed the guidelines set forth in the inspection sheet pro- vided with the Garfield County Permit application.
