Dear Mr. Feld:
Per your request, enclosed are the most recent design drawings
for the Lindauer Leach Field sewage system at our shale oil
project. I understand from our phone conversation that the
inspections performed by our installation contractor are suf-
ficient, and that upon receipt of the enclosed drawings you
will reissue the permit for this leach field sewage system at
the 2,000 gpd operation level. I understand that if we wish
to operate the sewage system in excess of the 2,000 gpd limit,
then we must go through the site application process with the
Colorado Department of Health.
If you have any questions or need further information please
call.

Re: Lindauer Ranch Wastewater Treatment Facility, Garfield County
Dear Tom:
This letter is a follow -up of our phone conversation concerning the
wastewater treatment facilities for the Union offices at the old Landauer
Ranch. The facility was repaired this past year through a repair permit
issued by Garfield County.
Recently, a request was made to allow additional connections to the
system. The addition would bring the total daily flow to 1800 gpd.
Ed Feld, Garfield County Sanitarian, asked that the Colorado Department of
Health take responsibility for approval of the system if the system is to
be used for more than 2000 gpd as per our regulations. The system built
under the repair permit is large enough to handle more than 2000 gpd.
If Union 011 Company plans to expand their offices at Lindauer Ranch such
that more than a 2000 gpd sewage flow would result, then site application
and design approval must be obtained from the'Colorado Department of Health.
If you have any questions, please call me.

Re: Addition to Union Oil Company of California's Lindauer Ranch Wastewater
Treatment Facility, Garfield County
Dear Scott:
I have reviewed the plans for the 1500 gpd addition to the wastewater treat—
ment facility at Union Oil Company's office at the old Lindauer Ranch. The
plans appear to meet the Colorado Department of Health design criteria except .
for the 13.57% slope on the first section of line out of the new septic tank.
Normally this slope should be reduced by the use of a drop manhole. Since the
line only carries septic tank effluent, no adverse conditions should develop
in this situation.
I have informed Union Oil Company that any increase in usage over 2000 gpd
must first be proceeded by site application and design approval. If a site
application is approved, then I would like to see the as —built plans and
design calculations for the existing system built under a Garfield County -
repair permit. The plans and design will be reviewed to determine if the
system can be used for more than 2000 gpd.
If you have any questions, please call me.
