Therefore, we are proposing an evapotranspiration field. The field will be located on the westerly side of the riding arena. The design flow will be based on the requirements for a one bedroom apartment. Therefore. the average tlow will be 150 gallons per day, and the design flow will be 1.5 times the average. or 225 gallons per day. We recommend a 1000 gallon septic tank. A smaller tank would be adequate, however, the 1000 gallon size is probably the smallest available, and 750 gallon is the smallest allowed by regulation. We understand that the ISDS for the main house will be a separate system and will he built at a later date. We also understand that the percolation rate at the site is negligible. Therefore, we are proposing an evapotranspiration field. The field will be located on the westerly side of the riding arena. Since the use of the barn/shop will be intermittent and even then not likely to he for a full day, the design flow will be based on the requirements for one office or factory type worker. Therefore, the average flow will he 15 gallons per day, and the design flow will be 1.5 times the average, or 22.5 gallons per day. We recommend a 1000 gallon septic tank. A smaller tank would be adequate, however, the 1000 gallon size is probably the smallest available, and 750 gallon is the smallest allowed by regulation. The area required for the evapotranspiration field, per the Colorado Department of Health and Garfield County Regulations is 400 square feet. We have enclosed two options for construction of the field area. The field should be constructed level, and the perimeter graded to exclude any surface drainage from entering the field area. No liner will be required because of the negligible percolation rate. 923 Cooper Avenue • Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Telephone: 303 - 945.8676 • FAX: 303 -945 -2555 RUG -07-1995 11:21 HIGH COUNTRY ENGINEERING P.02 Mr. Bertolini Page 2 July 10, 1995 (Revised July 26, 1995) If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact us.
