We reviewed the visible construction of the w individual sewage disposal system (ISDS). At the time of our visit, the concrete septic tank, the drywell with surrounding gravel and distribution piping were installed and visible. The remainder of the backfill, topsoil, and the finish grading for proper surface drainage were not yeedebtitpleted. The septic tank, which was of' precast concrete, was visible and in place. The first ant of test holes, which were approximately three feet deep, indicated a percolation rate of essentially zero. After discussion with the Contractor, we decided to do another percolation test at a greater depth. The second set of test holes were five to six feet deep. The average of :the rates in these test holes was 48 minutes per inch. Since the pervious material is relatively deep, we recommend that a drywell type absorption system be used. See the attached calculations and detail for additional information. The calculations indicate that a 750 gallon septic tank would be adequate, however, we recommend a 1000 gallon septic tank.
