2. This permit is valid only for connection to structures which have fully complied with County zoning and building requirements. Con-
nection to or use with any dwelling or structures not approved by the Building and Zoning office shall automatically be a violation or a
requirement of the permit and cause for both legal action and revocation of the permit.
3. Any person who constructs, alters, or installs an individual sewage disposal system in a manner which involves a knowing and material
variation from the terms or specifications contained in the application of permit commits a Class I, Petty Offense ($500.00 fine — 6 , /
months in Jail or both).

This letter is to follow up on our site visit of July 25, 1997 when we also performed percolation testing. The
three holes we tested were prepared by you and soaked the previous afternoon. They were located near the
periphery of the existing absorption bed. The holes were initially filled for the test at approximately 3:45
p.m. and the test was run until approximately 5:20 p.m. The average percolation rate was nine minutes per
inch, we recommend that a design rate of 10 minutes per inch be used.
The design flow for the existing home of four bedrooms would be 900 gallons per day. With a percolation
rate of 10 minutes per inch, the necessary absorption area would be 569 square feet. According to your
sketch of the absorption bed installation, the area of the bed would be 676 square feet, which is in excess of
the minimum. Therefore, the area would meet county regulations. Unfortunately, the piping scheme only
included two pipes for the 26 feet of width. Thus, one could install three more lines of piping at five feet on
center between the existing pipes that are twenty feet on center. This would then meet the regulation criteria
of having not more than six feet between distribution piping. An alternative would be to add onto the existing
absorption bed with additional gravel and piping to gain at least� �dditional square feet. Please see attached
sketches for additional information.
The existing septic tank is of 1250 gallon capacity, which meets county regulations. This is based on the
attached copy of the invoice from Copeland Concrete.
