Then and only then can you occupy and live in the building. Your building permit was issued July 13, 1994, Under the 1988 Uniform Building Code. The UBC states "A building permit is in effect for 180 days and any pennittee holding an unexpired permit may apply for an extension not to exceed 180, which is 360 days altogether, and no permit can be extended more than once ". Your permit was issued 20 months ago (about 600 days). It has been the policy of the Garfield County Building Department to cooperate with the homeowner, if he continues to work at getting the building finalized within the given time. Your permit is eight (8) months past the year anniversary, and you must get it completed. In view of what you have left to do for a final inspection, I will extend your permit for six (6) weeks, starting Monday, April 1, 1996 and it will expire on Tuesday, May 10, 1996. On or before May 10, 1996, you must call for a final inspection or you will be required to apply for a new building permit. The items required by the County for a final inspection are as follows; 1.. A final Electrical inspection from Colorado State Electrical Inspector 2. A finished roof, a lockable house, exterior doors and windows installed, a complete kitchen with cabinets, a sink with hot & cold running water, floor coverings, counter tops and finished walls, ready for stove and refrigerator, all necessary plumbinig 3. A complete bathroom, with wash bowl, tub or shower, toilet stool, hot & cold running water, floors and walls finished and a privacy door 4. All steps outside or inside over three (3) steps must have handrails, guard rails on balconies or decks over 30" high 5. Outside grading clone to where water will detour away from the building. Box 6006 Battlement Mesa, CO 81636 Dear Sir: • in answer to yourletter of March 21, 1996, 1 spoke with my Field Inspector, Ken Loygsiue, about Mr. Jan Gardner's property at 93 Ridge View Place. Mr. Longsine informed ire he had met with Mr. Gardner on site on March 19, 1996, and make a walk through inspection of the house, garage and basement. Mr. Gardner assured Mr. Longsine that he was not living in the house. Mr. Longsine said there were uo cooking l';icilities, water or sanitation. A kitchen table and chair were in the dining room with construction papers on it. In the basement there was a bed, and when Mr. Longsine asked • about it, Mr. Gardner told him that sometimes in the afternoon, he would relax on it for a while, but that he was not living there. After I received your letter, 1 made a survey on Monday, March 25, 1996 at Mr. Gardner's construction site at 8:00a.m..
