O FOUNDATION REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL ACCESSORY STRUCTURES Sec. 2907, Uniform Building Code (a) General Footings and foundations, unless otherwise specifically provided, shall be constructed of masonry, concrete or treated wood in conformance with U.B.C. Standard No. 29 -3 and in all cases shall extend below the frost line. Footings of concrete and masonry shall be of solid material. Foundations supporting wood shall extend at least 6 inches above the adjacent finish grade. Footings shall have a minimum depth as indicated in Table No. 29 -A un- less another depth is recommended by a foundation investigation. (b) Bearing Walls Bearing walls shall be supported on masonry or concrete foundations or piles or other approved foundation sys- tem which shall be of sufficient size to support all loads. However, it is the duty of the owner to notify the Building Dept. when the construction is ready for inspection. Schedule the inspection at least one day before such inspection. Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process.
